After meeting at the ASEAN Secretariat I still wondered to myself why the USA is so enthusiastic about holding the ASEAN Blogger Xchange. Perhaps the arrival of President Obama at the Summit of ASEAN Summit in Nusa Dua Bali that the U.S. Mission has special interests who knows what it is I myself do not understand. Despite the rejection of events ASEAN because ASEAN Blogger Blogger XChange Conference has been first designed by the ASEAN Community Blogger Indonesia chapter. But I’m sure they will not stop here certainly another way to be able to realize the desire.

That afternoon, an incoming email the contents of which I Introduce Findie of the United States Mission to ASEAN, partners from the On| Off this year, along with the U.S. Embassy to Indonesia. The involvement of the U.S. Mission to ASEAN in On|Off this year is that we bring in representatives teman2 bloggers from ASEAN countries to participate in the On|Off and provide venue for ASEAN this bloggers to exchange ideas about the social media landscape in the region, as well as expand friendship network among bloggers. We call our program the ASEAN BlogXchange.

As part of this BlogXchange ASEAN, U.S. Ambassador to ASEAN, David Carden, will hold a cocktail reception to welcome the ASEAN bloggers this Saturday, 3 December, at 7 pm at his residence in Menteng. To enliven the cocktail reception, we would like also to invite friends from ASEAN Community Blogger. Due to limited space, so sorry if our invitation to the ABC should limit yourself to no more than 5 pieces. I would be grateful to receive guidance on WHO Should We address the three other invitations to? Otherwise, We can also give you an “open” invitation, but We would need an RSVP from you one working day before the event. SIGH see see !!!!

So after On|Off celebration I went to US Ambassador for ASEAN house to attended the coctail party. After I confirmed by email from ms. Findie go where invited the ASEAN members to Blogger meet up in his home office. The event amenity within this cocktail party invite all ASEAN pesertra Bloggers who attended the event and as a member Aseanbloger On|Off Indonesia chapter also received a special invitation. In the opening speachnya U.S. Ambassador to ASEAN, David Carden, assess the bloggers in Southeast Asia increasingly positive influence for their respective countries and, ultimately, to the region. Regional integration in Southeast Asia who aspired to the public thanks to the ASEAN governments respectively, including the role of bloggers in their personal pages (blogs) on the Internet.

“With an effective way, namely via the Internet, giving you a separate role for the progress of ASEAN. Through the blogs that you manage, the public became more aware of the importance of anticipating the threat of pandemic disease and how to prevent problems together and the importance of economic integration in the region,” Carden said at his residence in Jakarta, December 3, 2011. Carden with his wife and a number of American diplomats when it welcomes the visit of the bloggers from nine ASEAN countries. They are located in Jakarta, 2-4 December 2011, in order to enliven the forum ON|OFF, formerly known as Pesta Blogger.

Carden rate that had been still a lot of the public in ASEAN that has not realized the importance of joint efforts to solve regional problems, such as disease outbreaks, natural disaster management, and prevention of other problems. “The bloggers need to be diligent to voice them. Continue to convey to the public, the media, to government, and also to diplomats on issues that should receive attention together,” said Carden.

      Thank you and nice to meet you although just in a blog, well never thought before if being blogger is a serious thing, being blogger? Yes, it does really has a home :)
